Recurrence of Random Walk Traces
نویسنده
چکیده
We show that the edges crossed by a random walk in a network form a recurrent graph a.s. In fact, the same is true when those edges are weighted by the number of crossings. §

Recurrence and transience of a multi-excited random walk on a regular tree
We study a model of multi-excited random walk on a regular tree which generalizes the models of the once excited random walk and the digging random walk introduced by Volkov (2003). We show the existence of a phase transition and provide a criterion for the recurrence/transience property of the walk. In particular, we prove that the asymptotic behaviour of the walk depends on the order of the e...
متن کاملRecurrence properties of a special type of Heavy-Tailed Random Walk
In the proof of the invariance principle for locally perturbed periodic Lorentz process with finite horizon, a lot of delicate results were needed concerning the recurrence properties of its unperturbed version. These were analogous to the similar properties of Simple Symmetric Random Walk. However, in the case of Lorentz process with infinite horizon, the analogous results for the correspondin...
متن کاملRecurrence Theorems in Various Types of Random Walk
In 1921 George Polya famously resolved the question of recurrence versus transience of the simple random walk on integer lattices. In this talk we will study the analogous question for random basic walks, which are random processes related to the problem of graph exploration by a mobile entity. After discussing recurrence results on other generalizations of simple random walks, we’ll resolve th...
متن کاملSteady state and mean recurrence time for random walks on stochastic temporal networks
Random walks are basic diffusion processes on networks and have applications in, for example, searching, navigation, ranking, and community detection. Recent recognition of the importance of temporal aspects on networks spurred studies of random walks on temporal networks. Here we theoretically study two types of event-driven random walks on a stochastic temporal network model that produces arb...
متن کاملSimulating intrafraction prostate motion with a random walk model
Purpose Prostate motion during radiation therapy (ie, intrafraction motion) can cause unwanted loss of radiation dose to the prostate and increased dose to the surrounding organs at risk. A compact but general statistical description of this motion could be useful for simulation of radiation therapy delivery or margin calculations. We investigated whether prostate motion could be modeled with a...
